"We will open source our findings"
The Zero-Knowledge Proof Research Society held its founding ceremony at the Korea Science and Technology Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 24th and announced its future research plans.
The Society for Zero-Knowledge Proof Research was founded to promote research on all aspects of zero-knowledge proof, which has been absent in Korea, and large-scale research involving blockchain public-private partnership experts.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by officials from various fields, including the Ministry of Science and ICT, ICT-related organisations, and academia.
"I think zero-knowledge proof research is very important for the trust society we are creating and the blockchain platform for it," said Hanyang University Professor Oh Hyun-ok, the first president of the Zero-Knowledge Proof Research Society.
Zero-knowledge proof is a way for a person to prove that he or she knows something without revealing that knowledge or information to another person. This allows for transparency and privacy on the blockchain at the same time, according to the Society for Zero-Knowledge Proof Research.
The importance of zero-knowledge proofs is particularly relevant in the context of the introduction of transparent technologies to prevent tampering and the potential for privacy breaches.
